Extra G4 Filter Material (by the Meter) for More Frequent Replacement
If you need to replace the G4 / Coarse filters more often – for example in dusty areas, near busy roads or in homes with pets – it can be practical and economical to use G4 filter material by the meter:
These materials allow you to cut replacement G4 filters to size more frequently, while keeping the original F7 fine filter in place for the recommended interval.
How Often Should Vallox 99 MV / MV CF Filters Be Replaced?
Replacement intervals depend on air quality and usage, but general recommendations are:
- G4 coarse filters (supply prefilter and exhaust filter): every 3–6 months
- F7 fine filter: every 6–12 months
- Carbon filters: usually every 3–6 months, depending on odor load
In dusty environments, city centres or homes with pets or smokers, filters may need to be replaced more frequently. Regular filter replacement:
- keeps supply air clean and fresh
- protects the heat exchanger and fans from contamination
- helps maintain low energy consumption and high heat recovery efficiency
- reduces wear and extends the lifetime of the ventilation system

How to Replace Filters in Vallox 99 MV and Vallox 99 MV CF Units
Replacing filters in Vallox 99 MV and Vallox 99 MV CF units is simple and quick. Follow these general steps:
-
Switch off the ventilation unit
Turn off the power to the Vallox unit using the main switch or circuit breaker. This ensures safe working conditions and prevents dust from being drawn in during replacement.
-
Open the front cover
Open or remove the front panel of the ventilation unit according to the manufacturer’s instructions to access the filter compartment.
-
Remove the used filters
Carefully pull out the existing F7, G4 and any carbon filters from their slots. Note the position and airflow direction arrows on the old filters for correct installation of the new ones.
-
Clean the filter space
Gently remove loose dust from the filter housing, seals and surrounding areas – for example with a vacuum cleaner or a soft cloth. A clean filter space ensures a good seal and prevents air bypass.
-
Insert the new Vallox 99 MV / MV CF filters
Place the new original or compatible filter set components into the corresponding slots:
– F7 / ePM1 50% fine filter on the supply‑air side
– G4 / Coarse 75% prefilter on the supply‑air side
– G4 / Coarse 75% filter on the exhaust‑air side
Make sure all filters are straight, fully inserted and aligned with the airflow direction indicated on the frame. Install any carbon filters according to the product instructions.
-
Close the cover and switch the unit on
Carefully close the front cover, checking that the seals sit correctly, then restore power. Make sure the system runs quietly and that no cover or filter warnings are displayed.
By following these steps and using correctly configured 3‑part Vallox 99 MV / MV CF filter sets, you maintain optimal airflow, protect the heat exchanger and fans from dust build‑up and keep your ventilation system running efficiently all year round.
